Dear All,

With heavy rain forecast for overnight and high winds on Sunday the task at
Dungy Head on Sunday has been cancelled for the reasons below:

Today the path was a combination of a stream, ski-slope and mud-slide. By
late afternoon the tramping of 5 sets of feet up and down the path had
converted most of it into a slushy mess. Each step board installed promptly
became a dam creating a rapidly filling pool that meant that the only way to
back fill the steps was to find sufficient stones (typically 6 buckets full)
and constant foot traffic with heavy buckets meant that by mid-afternoon we
were doing more damage to the path than good. With further heavy overnight
rain the situation will be worse too more and any attempt to build steps
would be counter productive and working conditions unsafe.

Look forward to seeing you at the next task at Upton, where the mire might
if the rain continues actually resemble what its name suggests.

Regards,
Richard.
